At Caloundra Basketball, we’re about more than just the game. We’re a community built around participation, development, and a shared love of basketball. From young players taking their first shot to adults competing each week, our programs bring people together on and off the court.
Our competitions run throughout the year at the air-conditioned Caloundra Indoor Stadium, with junior and senior divisions catering to a wide range of ages and abilities. Alongside our competitions, we provide development programs designed to help players build strong fundamentals, improve their skills, and grow their confidence in the game.
We also work with local schools to deliver basketball programs during and after school hours, helping more young people get involved in the sport and experience the benefits of being part of a team.
Whether you’re playing, coaching, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, Caloundra Basketball is a place where the community comes together through the game.

Established in 1975, Caloundra Basketball's humble beginnings started in a small one court stadium in Arthur Street, Caloundra. Formerly known as Coastal Suns and Breakers amongst other names, Caloundra Basketball has a long and varied history that includes playing at representative level in the QABL Southern Cross division.

Back in early 2000's Caloundra Basketball moved to the Sunshine Coast Council managed North Street Stadium that we play out of today. Purpose built for basketball, our four court air conditioned stadium is not only state of the art but the biggest the Sunshine Coast has to offer, with a show court, two huge grandstands, canteen, meeting rooms and updated athlete change room facilities.

Caloundra is now a thriving Basketball Queensland associated Club affiliated with Sunshine Coast Phoenix with over 70 teams in our mixed junior competition and growing every year along with our open's basketball competition, development programs, school holiday programs and camps.
We have numerous junior and senior players competing in representative basketball across SQJBC, QSL and NBL1 leagues.
